stocking a 75

have another tank 75 gallons was thinking of doing some sort of guapote,
wanted to do a fredi and was thinking of a jd as well, what else would work?

A Motaguense will work along with a Jd or something small. Mota's are the least aggressive out of the Guapote IME. Just do a breeding pair of Mota's. They will fit in ther for quite some time and by that time I am sure you'll have more big tanks so..

yea i think i might be getting another 125 in a few weekends, my parents didnt want the 380 gallon that i was begging them to get so i could get some pbass and aro's, so we compromised and im getting another 125, what would be good tank mates for motags in a 125, was thinking about a freddi and my jd's unless i get them their own 55

fredi,jag and two mota's would that work, prolly would be better off with only one mota in case they pair up?

Agree....I'm not certain that even a 125 would be big enough if the mota's pair up and breed. Better off getting singles of several SA/CA's, unless you're set on a guatope only.

yea i want to do a guapote only ,i already have a 125 for other cichlids havent kept any of these yet, so i guess i would be better off to only get one of each, thinking there would be a little room left though

No no no on the community of guapote. It ALMOST always ends badly and unsuccessful. Trust me i have tried with Jags, Freddy's, Mota's and Loisellei and it just does not work out. Unless you crowd the living hell out of the tank like 8 fish in a 125. I say go one parachromis and get some other amphilophus species.

ok thanks for the advice ill steer clear of the all guapote idea, got to many options , any other ideas for some agressive fish excluding red devils , working on a solo 55 for one

If you like Herichthys species you can probably do a community of them as they are a little more easy going then Parachromis amd Amphilophus. What an awesome setup would be in the 125 is One Huge Male Motaguense, a Big Flowerhorn and a Large texas with maybe a couple pictus cats.
