Gonna be setting up a 90 gallon soon not sure yet what i want to stock it with. Im torn between a few ideas. Im thinking either dats and birchirs---piranha community or 1 fahaka that will eventually go into my 125. Also thought about a geo community. I would appreciate any input or ideas thanx

What is the footprint? Are there plans for after the fish grow too big for the tank? Dats and bichirs would be awesome but they would need a larger tank in the future. Dats grow really slow though so you would have time. I also like the idea of a puffer, but im not really a one fish to tank kind of guy. Geos would be neat, but like the dats would need more room in the future. Don't do piranhas, I think they are overrated. :)

Personally I'd find the piranha's or the puffer idea boring, as derek already said Dats would eventually need to be rehomed but they grow slow, but if you wanted to do bichirs most of the upper jaw species can live their life out in a 90 gallon, except for ornates and weeksii, you can still choose from senegals, delhezi, palmas, palmas polli, retropinnis, etc you get the idea. Geos are cool but to have a good sized group of em you'd probably need a 6' tank

i read dats grow reallllly slow i think they would be ok for a while and i would prob do delhizi and senegals but im still very interested by the fahaka. im not usually into 1 fish in a tank but theres something about them. i think im starting to get the piranha idea out of my head also. not a fan of african.

I was looking at the fahaka puffer myself, but they need a 120 by themselves so had to put that idea on the back burner for awhile.
