Well my parents have a nice pond in their backyard and want to stock it with trout. Does anyone know where i could buy atleast fifty trout, either browns or rainbows. They dont want to go through the fish and game department so i was wondering if anyone knew anywhere that sells large amounts of Native fish?

Yum, you going to eat them?

What are the pond temps? Is it spring-fed? Trout need extremely well-oxygenated water, so basically the water needs to stay under 70F all year round or they probably wont survive. I know a place where you can get plenty of rainbows, but it's in Ohio...

well actually its a small creek that runs into a nice sized beaver dam. My dad dosnt want a whole bunch of people knowing about it if we put fish in it because its right in their backyard and they dont want people to be tracking through their yard to go fish, thats why we dont want to go through washington fish and game.

Hate to be a buzz kill but that will be illegal. Probably won't find anybody to stock that pond for you without proper permits (state law). Do they own the pond or is it public? Also have the chance of the trout spreading and causing problems throughout the watershed. Sorry buddy.

well i just talked to my dad and he called fish and game. They said it wasnt a good idea. The only thing i dont get is if you follow the crick it goes into a lake which hold trout. They told my dad they could put the trout in the creek if they tore down the beaver dam that makes the pond but then that would defeat the purpose.
