Hi i am making a 8 by 4 by 1 pond and i was wondering how many full size stingrays in it. I was thinking 3 motoros and a flower or leopolini. I am also thiking of keeping a aro in it but im not to sure of that becuase of the depth of the tank. Thanks

You could keep 3 motoros in there. The only thing that concerns me is the depth. I'm sure it will be fine but you can't get an arow its not deep enough since you'll have rays in there.

just make sure your filtration is adequate

i duno aros get so thick when they get big, and i think 12" won't really be enough, esp. with the rays

I dont really think that the depth matters. They spend most of their time on the bottom anyway. Maybe make it 15 or 18 inches high. Iwouldn't keep an arowana in there because there would be so little space between the rays and the arowana.

Why keep 3 motoros anway. How about 3 leopoldi rays then flowers, tigers or if your a millionaire some pearl rays LOL. You could keep a whipray in their too seen as its so wide and long.

Carl.

im fifteen years old so i cant afford 3 leopoldi. I have one motoro now and i want to buy a pair and hopefully breed and i ca only afford one flower or leopoldi

anymore inputs?
Hi , I am impressed by what u r going to do!!.
I have three ponds of which 1 is dedicated to stingrays. Depth is not a problem, as mine is approx 15 inches deep only. i have 2 henlei, 3 motoros, 1 ?flower ray ( and now 5 motoro pups 4 days old).
One thing I realized with a pond is that the rays have to be adults or of equal decent sizes as feeding all of them adequately becomes a problem as motoros and henlei are extremely boisterous and greedy. Smaller rays i had previously became skinny and had to be returned to the fish dealers
Water is the other issue. Fortunately in Singapore, we have heavy rains usu frequently ( almost continously in december)? like in the ray's native land. Nonetheless i still change water every wk.
Last thing, is to ensure that the ponds are well built in the first place and with regular servicing ( personal and ,sigh, professional costly ones)
Good luck!!:clap

the depth is only a problem with the aro, the stingrays themselves will be ok. but why not go a bit deeper? i personally would get a leo over a flower

im no going deeper becuase i have a 125 gallon reef tank 75 gallon discus tank and 55 gallon elong piranha tank and humidity is a problem so im trying to se as little water as possible
