hey guys im stocking an aprox 500 gal tank i will have a jag and a midas for sure and am wanting to add a pike possibly a xingu i know nothing about pikes and am open to suggestions hope im in the right place just kiddin ive been lurkin here for about a month and am confident ill get the help i need thanx guys

Venezuelan's get the biggest. They get 14- 20 inches and would fit the tank. AS for the jag...i dont know if they will be ok together...ask peanut power....what do you think peanut???!!!

You'll want a aggressive pike in that tank, and since its so large you could get one of the more aggressive pikes with out much problems. The 'xingu I, II, III' pikes are attractive, but there are many MUCH more attractive pikes available...;). Crenicichla sp. 'venezuela' DOES get large, but its not horribly attractive as an adult, but if your okay with that then go with sp. 'venezuela' as they are pretty common and cheap.

Your living in St. Louis area eh? Hmmm...thats only about a 6 to 8 hr drive for me...hahaha. Not too horribly bad. In a tank that size I think you should put some 'brazilian' Hoplarchus psittacus in there!! ;). There are a lot of great sellers in the St. Louis area though, is what I'm really trying to get at. I'll send you a PM with some of the people that I know from there that are great with gettin in Crenicichla...;). If they can't get it in for you, then you could just order them yourself. Personally, in a tank that size, I would DEFINATELY go with a pair of either Crenicichla marmorata or Crenicichla lenticulata....you could even probably get away with multiple pairs...;).
