OK, I just moved my Africans to my 125 gallon tank. I have 8 yellow labs, 8 Rusties, and 6 white tailed Acei. I'd like to eventually add a few more fish, and this mix is not very aggressive. I'm not really sure what to add, but my husband is a fan of the deep water Electra, and I particularily like the Blue Dolphins (C. Moorii). I'd like a place to start researching, but when I look at mixes, they are for smaller tanks than I am using, and I'm not sure of my limitations, or even what to stock. I'd like to stay with the not so aggressive fish, and little risk of cross breeding (I would say no risk, but that would be species only). Thanks!!

OK...what would you add? I tried checking out a lot of different species, but it seemed like they all either were yellow (LOL), or were very aggressive, or were carnivores.
By the way, I have babies!! Don't know who had them, missed any holding females (know I have 3 now), but the little babies are hiding in a rock pile. Might be Acei...too small and fast to tell yet.

Salousi, varoius zebras (many colors), white labs, etc.

I'd go with a hap/peacock tank with the blue dolphins as the centerpiece fish, then add some other haps you like

Not sure with the rusties since i never kept them but i know the yellow labs and yellow tail acei i had were pretty peaceful. I would not think you would have any problem introducing haps and peacocks into it. If not there are many different colors and aggressivness of mbuna to choose from. I liked my zebras when i had it as a mbuna tank. Other wise you could go with some male malawi eyebiters or venustus, c. moori, borleyi are nice (both male and females are colorful and attractive).

I really appreciate all the input. The Rusties are more peaceful than anything else in my tank...very little aggression at all in my tank. I've been researching these responses, and one question I have is mixing species. I thought I couldn't mix 2 types of Labs, or Pseudotropheus. I thought the risks of crossbreeding were too high. Am I off track here?

Thanks!
