Im stocking my new 135 gallon tank, so far I have:

5 L204s
1 Royal Pleco
8 Sterbai cories

I have 6 Geophagus Red Head Tapajos growing out in a 40 gallon. They are about 1.5" long.

I really want to add a group of Altifrons, would the tank be overstocked with the altifrons and the tapajos? The altifrons are also small so I suppose it would only be a matter of time until the tank gets pretty full.

Suggestions welcome.

Those plecos get big? Maybe too much for the long term.what about 1 larger cichlid? A chocolate, severum

Hi
Full-size Tapajos is around 6 inch long, and Altifrons is bigger- around 10 inch when it is full grown.

My opinion is that two groups of Geophagus would not load too much on the system, but from my experience Tapajos is pretty aggressive for its own kind. So when the Tapajos grow up, consider taking out some of them. Altifrons is a group fish, so you should have no worries about aggression. Lovely fish choice.

Good luck, and share some photos with us :)

Thx for the advice, I think I will go with the altifrons. I have always wanted them for a long time. Both groups are starting out small so should give me lots of time to get to know they're behaviour. Ill post a pic once I get some.

Thanks

The altifrons sold very quickly. When I went today they only had two left, do I didn't take them. Ill keep an eye out for some more
