alright everyone i've been researching for a few days here on fish i'd like to keep buti cant make up my mind... the only thing i've decided is that id like to have it moderatly planted with lots of driftwood and a bit of rock work. i've done the african cichlids and mixed community tank of tetras before (both of which i kinda grew bored of) and for a few years i even had a reef tank so i'm fairly confident in my fish keeping abilities.

now heres a list of fish i've been looking at...

cory's-theyre a must have for this tank and i think im going to do two different groups of 6

knight gobys-seem to get nothing but conflicting information about them on whether or not they can live in freshwater. the guy at my lfs who i trust alot tells me he's bred them before and blah blah blah and personally he kept them thier whole lives in freshwater fine.

moth catfish, i think they look pretty interesting however they like slightly colder water around 70ish

Tiger butterfly hillstream loach- this is also a cooler water fish

loaches- mainly the weather loach is what ive been looking at but i find them all pretty cool

basicly i kinda wanna go an oddball route with this tank, but i still want to have some variety in species. so anyone have ideas or suggestions for me??? thanks everyone

okay well i'll offer you an idea that i love and i have done and plan to do again... look up dwarf cichlids... apistogramms, kribs, and rams ( blue gold and bolivian)... they have alot of color... put a few cories in the bottom and plant the tank ... thgrow in some caves and call it a day

erin sorry but i dont wanna fish with a forehead as big as yours... i'll just settle with red devils haha jk

seriously though thanks for the suggestions jkoz kribs are definitely a possibility however id still like to see if anyones kept moth catfish or anything about them. i'm looking more towards "uglier" fish than colorful ones.

Get a colony of Kribensis in that 55....Start with a pair or two....These fish make great parents...The young are easily wanted in many lfs(local fish stores), so there will be no problem making more room for more....Lots of "bunch" plants, driftwood, and rocks will provide many hiding places....

OK justin,

VS

= Both lose due to extreme forehead violation.

Get some pygmy corys. Somewhere in the realm of 30.

There is no doubt those cichlids are ugly, like all cichlids are, but about the pygmy corys, they might be too small. I do like catfish though. Suggestions.

Okay im going to tell you by water regions

Top:Is easy 1-2 african butterfly fish(very ugly)Will eat almost anything in my expiriance

And maybe 5-6 Silver hatchets

Middle: A school of silver dollars(would do more then 5 though becaue of their size..

Bottom:5 raphial catfish i currently have 2 and i love them

and a Rope Fish or two...........

I believe this setup will work if you do it right...

In the back do alot of tall plants and in the front short plants.... CO2 is a must and driftwood and maybe a couple rock formations if u want
