I'm still trying to figure out what to stock my growout 45 gallon (3' long x 1' wide x 2' high) aquarium with. I will have this tank until december when I'm getting a 100 gallon (6' long, not sure other dimensions) from my girlfriend's grandparents. I have several different combinations under consideration, and would appreciate input and information if anything I have listed together wouldn't be compatible or would outgrow the 45 before december (not sure when in december i'll get it so we're talking anywhere from 2-3 months) Thanks in advance, and I know i'm not as knowledgible as most people on here so if any or all of these are horrible combos don't tear me apart too bad lol

Attempt 1)

Senegal Bichir x2
Green Terror x1
Convict x1 OR Jack Dempsey x1 OR Firemouth x1

Attempt 2)

Pictus Catfish x2
Firemouth x1
Silver Dollar x5

(Would Firemouth attack silvers?)

Attempt 3)

Green Terror x1
Turquoise Severum x1
Firemouth x1
Striped Raphael Catfish x1
Bristlenose Pleco x1

(Overstocked?)

Attempt 4)
Jaguar Cichlid x1
Bristlenose Pleco x1

(Concerned with Jag's growth rate until december)

Attempt 5)
One single Ghost Shrimp due to frustration and inability to choose one tank setup.

Thanks for the input in advance, feel free to throw in another combination as the tank still has to cycle for about a week before anything goes in

suggestions or help anybody...?

What do you want?.. I'de look at a stock-list for the 100. But get a few of the smaller species you'll want for it in the 45. the only sizeable beast I see is the Jag. nothing else you listed can I see out-growing a 45 in 1 yr let alone 3 months. And tbh I doubt the Jag would.. But I've never grown-out a Jag personally, so it is possible I could be wrong.

personally I like 3. but drop the GT. ( unless you can get lucky and get very small fish that will get along. ime GT's are either Tank-bangers or do just fine. It's a dice roll)

^^ thank you that's what i was looking for haha i guess i should have been more specific, just looking for opinions as to what different people prefer

buuuuuuump

Id go 1x Jag and 2x-4x Firemouths if your eventually going to have a 100g

do this
Senegal Bichir x2
Jack Dempsey x1
Firemouth x1

So essentially your planning stock for your 100g that you will be getting. What are the dimensions of this 100g tank?

6' long and i think something along the lines of 19" wide 19" tall but i have no idea on the latter 2 dimensions, any input on if any of these could just be kept in the 45 for life would be good as well, im just trying to get good input so i don't overstock my tanks
