Hi' Guy's

I wasnt sure where to put this as theres a few diff ancient species and a few not, I'm getting a 6x2x2 sometime this month and wanted to know if the following stocking would work;

3 Polypterus Lapredei
1 Polypterus Ornatipinnis
1 Polypterus Weeksii
1 Polypterus Senegalus
2 Rope Fish
1 Tyre Track Eel
2 Potamotrygon Reticulatus
1 Jardini or Asian Arowana
3 Florida Gar's ( if i can ever find them!)
1 Oscar

I have a 4x2x2 which currently houses the poly's , Tyre Track and Oscar so i can leave some in there if they are not compatible. Any ideas? The Ray's i'm getting i know the guy and know theyre feeding well so they'll be in good condition:)

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place btw !

Regards

Ben

No ropes! I've had big polys choke to death on them

Sorry should of mentioned sizes

3 Polypterus Lapredei 10-14 inch
1 Polypterus Ornatipinnis 5/6 inch
1 Polypterus Weeksii 12inch ish
1 Polypterus Senegalus 6inch
2 Rope Fish between 10-15inch forever moving!
1 Tyre Track Eel about 15inch
2 Potamotrygon Reticulatus One is a 4 inch disc and one is a 5 inch disc.
1 Jardini or Asian Arowana Havent got yet, most seem to be around 4inch when for sale though
3 Florida Gar's ( if i can ever find them!) havent got as i cannot source them atm
1 Oscar about 6inch

The rays are obviously still fairly small, would i need to leave the rays in the 4x2x2 until they grow bigger then move them into the 6x2x2 or put them straight into the 6x2x2 with the others?

Those 6-4" will sure get eaten by the lapradei and other larger fish. Just make sure to grow them out. That Senegal will take 2 years to get to 10". The retics is also a bit too small and still in a sensitive side. Bichirs and oscars eats a lot and produce a lot of waste. Any rise of ammonia level will surely poison your stingray. You should have gotten a motoro rather than retics as motoros have better chance. That oscar will grow faster than any of your small bichirs and might get eaten by the oscar. Both could die from the process.

Thanks for the advise :) Motoro's would outgrow the tank and i am hoping this will be my last tank upgrade for some time. I'll keep the ray seperate from the others until it's alot bigger. both tanks will be around 8-10x turnover an hour so the filteration shouldnt be too much of an issue hopefully:)
The retics are £90 for the two which is a pretty good price for some chubby rays:)

My Senegal doesnt seem to be growing much so might put him in a differernt tank with some smaller fish.

Apart form the above issues would the arowana and gars be ok or should i go with one or the other?
