Stocking for 120 gallon tank?

Hi,guys I am new around here so if i have posted in the wrong place please correct me! Now to my question....The tank i am asking about is a healthy,fully stocked community tank that i want to turn into a cichlid tank once i trade all the inhabitants to the pet store. My question is...what cichlids would you put in it if it was your tank? I am interested in both Rift Lake and Ca/Sa...just not in the same tank ofcourse. Thanks in advance,Andrew

either way you have many options, i would research a few different kinds you like and move from there, tons of amazing cichlids out there.

How many oscars could i have? I have 3 silver dollars i might keep for the tank if i go the sa/ca rout.

I have been researching this for a long time and I have come to the conclusion that Its between an oscar tank and a maliwa community tank. So if you guys could help me with stocking ideas that would be great...even if it don't include the fish I have listed

You could keep 2 Oscars in there with some dithers.

Physically you could probably do 3 if your filtration is good but keeping 3 Oscars is a bad idea because 2 will probably pair up and pick on the third.

Thanks for the response! ARE LARGE CICHLID TANKS BETTER THAN COMMUNITY TANKS?( P.S I HAVE AN EHEIM CLASSIC 2217 AND 2 AQUACLEAR 70s FOR FILTRATION.)
