Instead of just one "big" fish for my 34 gallon (36x12x18) I was thinking of maybe having multiple smaller fish. I didn't know what to get so I thought maybe you guys could give me some ideas. I had an idea of keeping a few small schools of different species of fish. I am not much a fan of guppies though. I thought of maybe some cory cats and tiger barbs and maybe some tetras but that might be overstocking. I am still going on the idea of having a few small schools of different species of fish. I really don't want to overstock and I hope the fish mention will be compatible.

Thanks in advance!

skys the limit with a free tank. I have always kepy breeding pairs of cichlids like convicts or honduras red points but for the last 6 months I have been looking at and reading on all sorts of other fish other than cichlids.

Think of a kind of fish you've possibly considered consider in the past, then you tube it to see if you think thats the kinda fish for you. Thats what Ive done as of late.

You could consider a small pleco tank with a school of small tetras(lots of options out there). Possibly a planted tank with shrimp? Im sure you'll figure something out!

zebra danios and tiger barbs could probably co-exist... somebody correct me if I am wrong...
