I'm getting a 150 gallon tank+stand in a week or two from someone off of craigslist.
I have a Tiger Oscar right now in a 55 gallon tank. Hes about 5.5".

I love Oscars, and I want to get him a few buddies, I'm thinking a Red O and another Tiger.

This tank isnt a crazy long tank, the dimensions look pretty wide,(which I like,) instead of really long and not very wide.

Anyways, I'm thinking 3 Oscars would be the max for this tank. I'm going to use my 55 for a sump(150 is predrilled) as well as my 2 Penguin Biowheel HOB's for aeration and added filtration. The Penguins I have are the biggest models, the ones with 2 biowheels.. I forget the model number.

Will this filtration be enough to add a couple of other fish plus a few Oscars? The total gallons with the sump and HOBs would be about 200.

If thats adequate filtration to add a couple more fish, any suggestions as to what to add?

Is 3 Oscars a good idea together, or are 2 bound to pair up and shun the third? Would I have to take out the third if a pair forms?(I really wouldnt want to)

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

I dont keep oscars so I can't speak on what will work but I'm partial to severums and they are pretty non agro.

to be honest i'd get another 4 and as they grow older sell the 2 that arent as nice looking/too many males

2 company/3s a crowd!!!!!!!!
they will if pair up attack the other oscar unless all female even then fightings still a big possibility!!!3 males would prob end in death and prob is until they breed you cant sex them so wouldnt kow if you got male and female,,,
if its a 5ft/2ft/2ft like my tank then i have

2 oscars
3 tinfoil barbs
2 silver sharks
1 birchir
1 gibbicep
1 common plec
1 hoplo catfish
1 juvi tiger shovel nose<not perminant residence

took a time but now tanks so peaceful and no fighting or hiding anymore

with this i did have
1 female vieja biff<killed green terror<badly wounded jack dempsey and my two oscars<sold>
1 male 10-11inch jag tried to attack oscars so rehomed in a smaller tank and now trying to sell him

aw snap. the tank is 72"x18"x30"tall.
kind of a bummer. i think the 18" width is kind of cramped for full grown Os. i don't know if i want this tank anymore. it really looked from the pic like the dimensions were 5'x2'x2' or something.

the tank is in that link.

it says "72" coralife light". i feel dumb

corallife light is the unit above which holds the light tube!!!!
it looks good from where iam sitting and sounds like its got some get filteration

i know it's the light fixture, but i thought the tank dimensions were 5'x2'x2' or something like that, something wider than 18". if i didnt just skim over the extra stuff like the light fixture that i didnt want, i wouldve figured out the dimensions weren't 5'x2'x2'.
it looks like its 5'x2'x2', doesnt it? well i guess it could be 72"x30"tallx18" wide too.
im inquiring in another 150 that has different dimensions than this one.. it looks shorter, so maybe it's wider. or it's just loooooonger >: |.

i wouldnt be taking the filtration, just the tank w/ overflow holes already drilled, and the stand. id be using my 55 for a sump

i would get the filtration that comes with the tank, you never want to do the bare minimum especially with messy fish like oscars

i would say thats decent for anyother fish, usually you shoot for a sump 1/3 the size for a bare minmum if im correct in my assumptions
wouldnt hurt to add a canister of some sort
