I recently moved to a new bigger house so finally got myself a decent size tank. It is 400 litres ( I think that is 105 US gallons?)
It came with an internal filter that is 1000 litres/hour. I also have a fluval 405.

I have been getting a lot of small cichlids to go in it on the plan of seeing which I prefer and then re-homing the excess. The problem is I am liking them all and can't decide what to do... can I have your thoughts?

Current stock:
1 x 3" Oscar
2 x 4" Firemouth
2 x 4" Blue Acara
2 x 2" Port Acara aka Black or Brown
2 x 2" Gold Severum
1 x 2" Red spot Gold Severum
1 x 6" Chocolate cichlid
3 x 5" Clown loach
1 x 5" Blood Parrot

Currently the tank is very peaceful, and I have no issues. The only fish in there I am keeping an extra close eye on is the Oscar, as we know they grow very fast and may start eating his buddies.

Water tests show 0 amo, 0 nitrite and about 10ppm nitrate. I also use ro/di water and add ro-right. ph stable at 7.0 Water changes once a week of 20%

I think I'd keep one firemouth, blue acara, port acara, the red spot gold severum and the clown loaches.

:)

The bp I have is the only one i have seen that I think looks nice. It doesn't have that severe bump shape beak or look deformed like most. It also has a lovely personality. I will have to post a few pics for you guys.

My tank is similar in size to yours (a lil bigger) and i have a 13" Oscar and a 14" Bichir! Depends on what you really like and wana keep? If you like the Oscar, id put a severum and blue acara with it and let them reach there full potential size and you will eventually have a tank where people will admire the size of your fish and the space you provideed them?! Just my opinion but dont cramp the fish, it will make the tank look terrible!!!
