Hello all!
I need some help stocking my 15 Gallon Fluval Flex.

I want to do something very unique. It is a part of a group of tanks I have that I dedicate to "nonfish" animals. The other two tanks in the group have axolotls and Clawed Frogs. I would love to have another type of animal like this. I've kept several crayfish in the past so I'm not sure I wanna do that again. I've considered doing freshwater crabs or MAYBE mudskippers (although I need to do more reading on them to see if that tank would even work for them).
I AM open to fish if they are unique, fun or rare. Some fish I've kept before that I'm not convinced to keep again are:
- Dwarf Puffers
- Bettas
- Dwarf Cichlids
- Im sure there are others I cant remember

I'm open to anything freshwater, will consider brackish water if I like it. Prefer to avoid salt water. Just want some suggestions.
Willing and usually do lots of cleaning and willing to make the tank into whatever it will need. I am willing to do something that may be a little overstocked and require extra maintenance.

Just looking for suggestions!

15 gallon is much too small for mudskippers. Maybe try some larger shrimp such as Vampire and/or Bamboo. Maybe make an aquascape with those.

Perhaps some Kuhli loaches? Those are unusual.

I see more and more people keeping sunburst diving beetles in small aquariums. Can’t really speak on care requirements, but perhaps another member could chime in. Could be an interesting non-fish option for your tank?
