im planning on this feb or march to be getting a 100+ tank that varies between as much gallon as i need or i can afford.....i will be useing black sand and black or red gravel above it. i will be useing driftwood design and fake plants.
Heres my Stock list:
2 senegal bichirs
1 jaguar Cichlid
may add more if i want to or can?:headbang2

like what ones?

the Jag slims down your choices quie a bit,
Marble Catfish (depending on how big your tank actually is)
Some sort of Pleco
you could try some silver dollars

Personally Id go with 2x 8" Datnoids, 1x 10" Peacock Bass, and 4x 5"-6" Geo Cichlids

yeah i may drop the jag and swap in my oscar instead if that works or will he be the same problem quick note he is a vieltail oscar

Oscars typically arnt as aggressive as Jags, it would work better, it actually opens up alot of choices as long as the fish isnt too small to fit into his mouth or faster then the oscar then it would work for your tank

awesome i may just do that. which is move my 75 gallon fish into the new tank and have some bichirs in there and in my 75 add a nice jag all by himself

id let the oscar have the 75 to himself and then in your 100+ get a couple palmas or delhezi bichirs and a honduran jag, maybe try a school of SDs as well

sounds good to me, just incase you wanted to go down a somewhat similar route with a different cichlid, a Buttikoferi would also be a good choice for your 75g, they get about the same size but are vicious at feeding time and IMO much more personable. I had one and a jaguar together and when I fed them feeders the Jaguar would simply swallow them whole while they Butti would take the fish by the head, and shake it violently until the head came off, then repeat the process over and over with small chunks until all that was left was the skeleton of the smelt. It was quite a sight to see

Endlicheri and Ornates are great bichirs
