hi all after moving my convict pairs to my 150 gallon tank recently i am left with a near empty 29 gallon tank (just a pleco i want to move to my larger tank) but i have no idea what to stock it with so i need ideas

what do you guys think i should stock it with? it can be anything from a community aquarium to a single species tank but hopefully something a non fish keeper can look at and say "wow that looks nice."

i am currently interested in most south american fishes (tetras hatchet fish etc) but i really dont care where the fish is from. oddball or unusual fish would be great

please no one suggest exodons. at my LFS exos are 9.99 and theres no wayy im spedding 200 bucks for 20 of them

so other than that any fish(es) that would fit permanently in a 29g would be a appreciated suggestion

i realise that there are millions of combinations with these vague guidlines but any idea that jsut pops in your head would be great even if its just a small community of platy sized fish or something along those lines the suggestion would be appreciated

Not a fish...But African clawed frogs are real nice. Everyone who comes over loves to look at my 29 with three ACF's. Sometimes even more than the fish, lol. Their not the small ones either, females get to about 5 inches males smaller. I love mine.

Angelfish, silver tipped tetras, bloodfins, ram cichlids, cory cats... Id stay away from tinfoil barbs though. They do get pretty big.

hmmm cory cats and angel fish good idea im thinking of getting a bigger filter for the tank (ac70) so i can do some over stocking maybe something like

4 black skirt tetras

4 cory cats

4 serpae tetras

3 marbled hatchet fish

and then maybe 1 or 2 angelfish as a centerpeice

I would do planted tank with:

-A pair (or 2) of german blue or electric blue rams for the centerpiece
-school of tetras (neons or rummynose) for the middle
-6 cories for the bottom
-6 hatchets for the top
