Stocking ideas for 55 gal SA aquarium

I have 1 blue acara that just got a new home (sorry about upside down pic)



Here's my plan for stocking:


1 Blue acara
1 bristle nose pleco
2 bolivian rams
1 convict
10 tiger barbs


Acara and llego are Myers. Everything else is flexible.

I would ditch the convict for a geo of some sort. I think the con will be too aggresive in that setup.

I like that stocking list. Good sized species if the 55 is going to be permanent home, but I would go for honduran red point convicts, much nicer than standard cons. Maybe even throw an ebjd in there. Good luck with it!

Definitly would go for a honduran red point over a reg con. Also check out yellow acara imo better looking than blue.

Have you ever seen Yellow Firemouth? Pretty sick, it's Thorichthys Pasiones I believe.. Something like that lol never kept them so unsure of the temperament compared to its cousin T. Meeki the real firemouth

I like the pearl scale geo and the Honduran red point. The ebjd doesn't appeal to me... Looks "fake" but really pretty.


Will either of them have an issue with the acara?. Still planning 1 secondary cichlid.

I have a red point and yellow acara
Together now and works out fine.. actually the ya is an s.o.b and beats the crap out of my metynnis fasciatus
