in a fish bowl
I had a 'bandeal pike' a while ago, and unfortunately my FH bit him. The bite got infected against my best efforts and he died. Anyways, in the coming months I want to get rid of the fish in my 210, and redo some components of the filtration system. Once finished I would like to restock with somethig new and exciting.

I really like some of the pikes in the picture sticky at the top of this sub-forum, and wonder if different pikes will tolerate eachother. I would like to house about 3 to 5 pikes, and a few other fish to mix things up. I never had any peacock bass, and think there cool. Would this be a good choice? Are there better alternatives? Dont say tinfoil barbs cause I hate them. Thanks for your opinions!

not positive on the mixing pike species. i know sometimes u can get a male female pair of the same species to work well in a tank. dont got any info about the peacock bass but ive had success with south american cichlids (JD, Gt's, Firemouths) mixed with my pike... despite there reputation as killing everything alot smaller than them, i have one cr. sveni in with only a 2.5 inch convict an they get along fine. doesnt mean they'll all be like that. id suggest getting some sort of dither fish as well. just a big old donkey fish that swims around aimlessly helps fish not get as territorial. since u dont liek tinfoil bards id suggest silver dollars. bala sharks might also be a possibility also it might help to grow all the fish up together as juvies instead of gettting them full grown.

to my knowledge pikes like alot of other fish are aggressive toward others of there own kind. a male female pair with assortment of south american cichlids would be in my opinion your best bet. and alot of places for the female to hide, to keep the males aggression to a minimum. also ive read about quite a few people having good luck with pike and pbass together also like obsession said growing all from juvi together helps.
