So as most of you know my midas recently got really sick he has now recovered and will be going back into his 150...... that will leave my 10 gallon empty ans i want to keep it cycled...... I have can always change the festae to the 10 gallon since im down to two one died for no aparent reason 2 days ago and the other i belive died during a water change one of the ornaments fell on top of it... so i am really into cichlids and want some ideas for my 20 or 10 gallon tanks.... apistos are not an option none of the stores close to me carry them.... any suggestions???? Thanks in advance....

I wouldn't put anything in it. If you ever ran into problems in the future, you'd again be without a quarantine tank.

You don't need to keep it cycled. Take the sponge from your sponge filter in the quarantine tank and put it into the filter of your 150 gallon tank. This will keep it cycled. If you ever need to use the quarantine tank again, remove the sponge from the 150 gallon's filter, squeeze it a couple times in a bucket of tank water to clean the crap out of it (but not too much, or with new water, because you could kill the bacteria), then add it back to the quarantine tank. Instantly cycled tank.

A 10 gallon really isn't a great tank for anything long-term. I don't even raise cichlid fry in 10 gallon tanks. I don't have anything smaller than a 20.

well i have different filter for the 150 and the 10 gallon i could always move the festae from the 20 to the 10 then add something to that

What type of filter do you have on the 150? Either way, it should be able to accommodate a sponge filter from a 10 gallon. If it's a sump, throw it in the sump. If it's a canister, open it and put it in one of the baskets. If it's a hang-on-back power filter, cram it in there with the other sponges. I always keep extra sponges in my filters just so that I always have an instantly cycled sponge filter in case I need to set up a new tank fast.

A festae cannot live long-term in a 10 gallon. You're talking about a cichlid that can grow huge. They may be small now, but large-growing cichlids don't stay that way for long. My psittacus grew 10" in under a year.

they are only about 1'' its only a temporary tank cant put them in my 150 because they will become snacks.... i have 2 ac 110's

Your Festae will not grow as well in a 10gal. Even though they are small now, they still do much better in larger tanks as they grow. Water changes, good food, and plenty of room will give you better results. If you must put them in something temporarily use the 20 and not the 10. But get them in something bigger in the future.
