I am looking at upgrading to a 150g tank for christmas and want to start planning for stocking! I was thinking maybe a pair of Vieja Argentea, a pair of Breidohri, a chocolate cichlid, and a small colony (5-6) of geos like red head tapajos or something of the sort. Will this be overcrowded or just comfy?

Yes Geos and Chocolates would make a great tank. You can put 2-4 Choco's 2-4 Uaru and 6-10 Geos with 6 Festivum and a bunch of tetras for a real nice show tank. Eventually you will have a pair of choco's one one side and Uarus on the other with everything else all over

i agree stick with CA,or SA.will probably be a better chance for harmony.i had a chocolate, great fish.worked with severums for me,SD's or another schooler for movement,i have read of some aggression issues with argentea

hmm ya i mean im not really big on keeping it SA or CA specific. It would be cool to have a great looking tank while still being able to have the pairs breed and be able to share some awsome offspring with others looking to get into the hobby :headbang2. I definitaly want to have a small "colony" of something whether it be geos or festivum or something of the sort. Unfortunately i dont think ill be getting another choco even though i LOVE the male i have, not to interested in them breeding unless i can have 3 pairs in the tank but i think that would be pushing it haha. LOL and yes i have been very tempted to do a Front colony but i will most likely save that for another tank ;). I hear mixed things about the argentea with some having crazy aggro and others being mellow so i thought i may give it a go and hope for the latter lol. Keep the suggestions coming! love what im hearing
