I've noticed a lot of people have posted questions about stocking levels and I'd like to have some information on it as well. Obviously it depends on the size of the fish but any chance someone could create a pretty decent estimation chart?

My personal question is how many Mbuna could go in a 46 gallon? I've got three different species, Yellow labs, acei, and hongi if that helps.

The problem with a chart is that saying mbuna does not narrow it down enough. When you give the species then it will help. Also need the footprint of your tank please.

I had a 2" hongi in my 120 gal peacock tank and he was tearing everyone on a new ***hole so I would say 46 gal is way to small for a hongi, the labs and acei are fairly peacful.

They are more peaceful, but they are also a lot larger. Heck acei are school open water fish, hardly act as rock dwellers. Ad considers them sand dwellers which makes a lot more sense. So despite being in the same family as other mbuna, I am not sure I would call them mbuna.
