I your opinion would any breeding pair of the Amphilophus genre work with a managuense and possible friedrichsthalli or motaguense pair? There will also be a breeding pair of common cons in the tank. Not looking to get flamed just looking for some breeding options.

I have a breeding pair of cons that I'm going to use to cycle the tank. I'm not worried about them as their is a lot of hiding places. I have a 9-10ish inch male jag and am hoping to get him a female. Everything else will be new purchase.

210gal is alot of space so you might be able to get away with it.
Your cons may cause you some trouble though.
Id suggest making 1 nest on one side and another nest on the other side with a big piece of driftwood in the middle(or something to block line of sight).
Like this: ___ /|\ ___
___=nest /|\=barrier.
Anymore than 2 pairs, be prepared to seperate fish due to over-aggression.

In my opinion the jag is the problem fish at 9 to 10 inches its gonna be hard to find things he wont kill the cons will make it if they stay out of site but they get feisty they will be lunch also .I have a freind with the same problem a big male jag and it kills every fish he puts in the tank including female jags .My answer would be no its not a great stocking idea but if you insist on doing it id recommend Amphilophus Trimaculatus they get almost as big as a jag and are mean also .

My jag is in a 90 right now with an Oscar JD & geo, he's more territorial than killer. Also I was thinking an chancho, amarillo, hogaboomorum or lyonsi pair. Ive seen it done in a 300 that worked with all fish spawning. I have never had any fish from the Amphilophus family but from what Ive seen on line the Trimaculatus are the most aggressive. Thanks for the reply and besides what you said what fish would you recommend.

i would go with the mota's, they would be able to hold its own agianst the jag and are just as powerfull and faster than the jag ,but stay a little smaller ...

im keeping my 10inch jag in a 220 with a red devil, i also have cons and every1 gets along fine, the rd is the boss of the tank even though she is smaller, i was also thinking of getting another jag to breed lol
