So I have a few fish in my tank but want a few more. I currently have one black ocellarius clown, one fancy percula, and a diamond goby. What else would be good in the tank that is peaceful to semi-aggressice (like the clowns) but would be ok for a reef tank?

I was looking at getting a Coral Beauty and Flame dwarf angels but not sure how they will do.

Also how many fish can I keep in my 29 gallon? Assuming i stick to liveaquaria's rating for fish that are 30 gallon or less???

I have two firefish in my 29 along with my clown and neon goby. Great looking fish. I think either one of the dwarf angels would do fine just make sure it is bigger than the clown so it does not get picked on.

It's been a while since I have had salt, but....
You should probably judge compatability by aggressiveness and swimming level (top, mid, bottom) - this way everyone is happy.

If you think about it, most damsels are semi, or aggressive but small with min tank requirements. Even so, it's not the best idea to have a bunch in there because of there aggressiveness.
Hope this helps
Good luck!!

**edit**
I have had a FOWLR (and a few Xenia) in a 20g, very successfully with a flame angel, midas blenny, and two clowns if this helps

None of the stuff I look at says if it is a top, mid or bottom dweller. how can I find out?
All the fish I have now are semi aggressive. But it applies to members of the same species. So I was told as long as they are two different sizes I'll be ok. True?

If i were to get 2 angels and add them to my tank would I be maxed out at that point in terms of stocking? Or could I get like a mandarin because they hang out at the bottom?

Sorry I don't have a great answer for you.
I believe angels are mid, blennies and the likes are bottom. Mouth position is a ghetto way of figuring it out. Mouths pointing up, down, or dead center are sometimes indicators of levels.

Maybe someone else can chime in and we can both learn a bit more.

FYI - Mandarins are supposed to be extremely finicky eaters, so be prepared. I think that one angel will be fine, not sure about two. Seriously look into blennies, they are funny little fish that hide in all the cracks and crevices of your rocks. They perch on rocks like hawkfish -- Hawkfish "might" work too.

These are just suggestions.

I was looking at the flasher wrasses too... they seem bright an colorful

What about reef safe puffers? Starfish? The tank is in my living room so I want attention grabbers....

I really want a flame angel. I read you have to put those in last???

Flashers are cool, most wrasses of that size need alot of swimming room.
I am reading 50g+ on those. I LOVE those though.

The six line is a good suggestion.

Instead of the flame (I have never seen this one, I like it)
Velvet Angel

Check tank size - they can be fiesty
Pseudochromis

or what about things like urchins and sea stars?

I like to have a full tank but I got a long way to go before the "reef" is all built up so I don't want to end up overstocking it..
