NEW YAWK CITY
alrighty then. I got my tank yesterday and have left my canister running all night and all day. I have one pleco in there atm as shown in the pics. Im thinking 2 frontosa (LFS has 1 inch fronts(i know theyll outgrow the tank))
i was thinking of doing the pleco, 2 fronts, a yellow lab, and whatever else you guys suggest, preferrably up to about 6 fish. Im looking to create a SA cichlid tank. i added my buffer (4 teaspoons), but the pH test didnt pick up the change, and the bottle says 1 teaspoon for each 20 gallons. any suggestions? i want water with a pH around 8.0. also, i dont really get how to read my thermometer as usually two different numbers are colored.(can someone enlighten me). Im looking for colorful fish to excite and catch my eye. i have a HoB but i left the intake tube at the sellers house and im waiting for him to mail it. i painted the stand myself (was SO much work to scrape off all the rust) i wanted to get sand but the gravel came with the tank and is probably a bit easier to clearn. the siphon the guy gave me doesnt really pick up dirt that well, and im considering buying a new one.
OPEN TO IDEAS. lets get some posts for the new guy!!:naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty:
pics are from phone, also ignore the doll, its 50 years old and very creepy

i was thinking of buying slate from a garden store(or just rocks) and stacking them with pieces inbetween to make like a multistory "building" for my fish to swim thru. also i may buy a piece of driftwood if anyone can link me a place to buy online. i found some malaysian on ebay for 40 bucks but thats pretty expensive.

yeah gravel will be easier to clean...and you will need a good vacuum to do it...

i have some malaysian wood in my tank, it rocks...40$ is a bit steep though..
i have heard good things about manzanita wood as well, which there is a vendor on the site..might be worth it to look into that as well..

honestly the temp...i have no clue, my buddy has one just like that...he says he goes by the middle one...which in your case is 80...but i have no clue
