Well hello there my fellow MFKer's. Its been awhile since ive been actively been on here. And well i have jus recently just bought a fluval 404 and a Aquaclear 70? i believe. I was looking for a Aquaclear 110 but this shall have to do. From my previous usage in the tank ive had many different types of fishes in it. Im somewhat looking into a good size community of fishes that arent too aggressive yet are suitable in the 55 gallon for a prolong good 3-5 yrs. Till then they will be brought into a larger enclosure once i move out. I was thinking about vibrant colorations and full active movement going in the tank. Not really looking into cichlids as much this time. Well any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hmm, the thing about that is ive had a african cichlid tank already set in this 55 before. Im having countless thoughts of maybe a good size school of 3 different species of corydoras that's size probably won't exceed 2.8-3inches. Thought of getting 6 of each type. This way i have good bottom activity and such yet the tank will be overfiltered. And as for the mid/top section of the tank im still clueless. I'll also will be only having a few small rocks and possibly a few live plants. So the rest of the tank from the mid/top area would most likely be open watered..

Clown Loaches, Cardinal and Neon Tetras( enough to be a school) and maybe a couple Silver Dollars? One beautiful Flowerhorn show piece would be cool also, with maybe a Royal pleco for some contrast...How about a school of Killifishes, like Gardneri and Blue Gularis? Major color there! 50 Veil Tail guppies!
I could go on and on. Dont forget European Minnows,Orange-spotted Sunfish and Red Shiners, our colder water favorites! No heater needed, and beautiful in schools!

I would do Clown Loaches, but those grow too big and wont be able to be sustainable in a 55 gallon in the longrun since they grow well over 8+ inches even though they grow slow. I may look into Neon and Cardinal Tetras..as for flowerhorns, they are beautiful and have very nice colorations it just wont do in my 55 gallon. Preferrably a 75gallon or higher for a nice show piece. Awesome list tho!
