I grew up with small fish tanks. I now own my own, however I bought a 180 and set it up for my mother who also likes fish.

Everything is prep'd and ready and I was thinking about adding these cichlids.

Herichthys carpintis
Nandopsis tetracanthus
Parachromis managuense or Motaguense

Also considering Amphilophus trimaculatus

I'm wondering if all 4 can coexist in a 180 or should I just go with 3 of them.

If just 3, Which 3 would you choose?

i had managuense, carpintis and trimac that did fine together in my tank. but it always goes back to the same awnser. each fish has its own personality and may or may not work.

Escondido variant Carpinte, Mana, Motag. plus some SDs or something as a dither

a couple of you chose the mana and the mota together. I was under the impression that 2 fish of the parachromis genus might not tolerate each other. So I was thinking about 1 or the other, am I mistaken?
