Stocking my new 50Gal

I scored a 50 long for 50 bucks off a co-worker who was trying to get rid of it and get it out of his storage unit. I was kicking around stocking ideas and this is what I had in mind 1 Salvini and 1 JD or EBJD still not sure which I would like to get. The only other fish that would be in the tank would be my female con who is 3.5. I was also thinking maybe a Bristlenose pleco and some small schooling fish like some cherry barbs. Am I asking for trouble or overstocking with a list like this?

JD's aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to be. From experience, though, Salvini's are the most aggressive fish I've ever had (I have Jags, Cons, and an African tank.)

They are suprisingly nasty, watch out when stalking them with fish. My 4" Salvini nearly killed my 8" Jag.

All the Jack Dempseys I've kept have always been the dominant cichlid in the tank.

It Depends on the fish, Salvinis can be nasty mine are not though. However my JD can be real prick to her tankmates sometimes
