I just got done setting up my new 55g, took for every to get everything I need since money was tight lol. But I got 2 of my friends Frontosas since he was wanting different fish, I know they get huge, I've seen 14" ones but they take years to grow. Currently the largest one is aprox 3" and the smaller one is roughly 2". They are with my 2 red dot sevs which are roughly 3-4". They seem to be doing well, but the larger front is getting territorial at times, any suggestions? I will post pics when I take some pics of the finished tank (Needs more plants and rock covering)

This is a pic of my larger Frontosa in my tank before I added any of my plants or anything. (Picked them up the next day)

No suggestions? :(

With only two Fronts, one will want to become the dominate guy. It is hard to keep only a couple of Fronts due to there nature. I would think the 55 is OK for a little while.

Is the aggro. Front chasing or flaring to the Sevs?

CA and AC have different ways of showing dominance which could lead to other problems.

i had 2 fronts also with the same effects one dominating the other. since i bought two more and the aggression just basically disapeared. i also bumped them to a 125g which im sure also helped.

Yeah more than two fronts is best. I have 13 Mpimbwe in my 240 and they chase each other arround a tad, but no damage. They are a colony based fish, so they have to setup their chain of command. 2 Male fronts together probably would be even worse. Pick up a couple of more Burundi and put them in to see what happens. These fish truly shine when setup in a stable colony. My favorite fish bar none.

They seem to have settled down quite a bit, seems like they play tag a big, the sevs peck back some times but not serious fin tear or anything, and yes i do plan to get a much larger tank when the time comes but it takes quite a long time for fronts to grow large.

Yeah they grow rediculously slow. Males quite a bit faster. I have some F1s that I purchased 6 months ago. The females have grown about 1" the males double that. My burundi males grew about 3-4" in their first year where the females haven't changed much.
