Finally setting up my 40B, for stock currently have in a 10:

3 zebra hermits
4 margarita snails
2 nassarius snails
2 yellow tailed blue damsels

tank stats:
PH 8.4
nitrate ~5ppm
SG 1.024
15lbs of live rock
20 lbs of sand

What would be my stocking options for inverts and fish so that I can start researching what I might like? Tank stats when finished will be everything above plus appropriate live rock and sand.

Another thing I would be interested in would be beginner corals, lighting on this tank I will have 4-39W T5HO. Planned on having two 10,000K with heavy blue spectrum and 2 actinic 420nm. Do corals use red spectrum?

Any and all recommendations appreciated as I am still new to marine.

Some advice don't put hermit's in a tank if you plan on coral's they can be a pain and eventually kill your snail's for there shell's even if you have ton's of empty they always get your snail's and show you the next day and flip you the bird in the process. A good beginner coral would be something in the octocoral family stay away from gorgonian's maybe try mushroom's, zoanthid's and once you get accustom to easier coral's you can get into SPS, LPS coral's. I would also search out Reef safe fish in your process of looking for tank-mate's go on liveaquaria.com they have great reef safe fish and give you all information on them so you can use that as a reference for when you buy. Hope this help's if i can help anymore Private message me or leave me a message on my visitor page. If at all cost's try not to add damsel's to your 40 breeder they can be very aggressive and mean to the more laid back reef fish. Coral's use blue spectrum not red the lighting look's good you should use about 50 lbs live rock and 45 pounds sand as well.
