I have an empty 220 ready for fish. I also have these fish currently in separate tanks ( jack Dempsey, Midas, Green Terror, and Two Albino Oscars,) These fish are all similar in size the terror and oscars are about 5 inches. The midas and jack are about 4.
Will these fish work out together? If so, In what order should I add these fish or should i add them all at once? I know that as the midas gets older it will surely run the tank but if need be i can separate them when that happens.

I also have a baby jag that is only 2 inches. but i plan to keep him in his own tank. Hes a funny lil guy his tank is beside the jack and he tries to get at the jack all the time even though the jack could swallow him whole!

I would add the Oscars first, once they appear settled add JD and gt, let them settle the add the Midas. Not sure about an adult Midas but the other 3 seem to be kept together quite frequently.

I agree. But like mentioned the only one I would worry about is the Midas they tend to be really aggressive.

I'm ok with the list minus the midas...they are much more aggressive generally than the others

Just add them all together. I don't think the Midas will cause any trouble right now since they are all so small in that huge tank. I have a stock that looks a little like yours. Still keep an eye on the Midas when he reaches 8-9 inch.

i say add them all at once as well, in that size tank as small as they are it should help them quarter off their own territories because if you add fish individually the first fish to be added will assume the whole tank is their territory. really depends on the individual midas, my buddy has one that wont even eat a giant danio and shows no aggression towards anything in a 55

all at once.. as suggested. adding them stacked like that is asking for a bully. intigrateing them all at the same time insures no-one has a leg-up. I'de also do either alot of decor/cover or none. If you have only one or two "landmarks" you'll end up with someone claiming it and beating the snot outta everyone else. or if you have alot of structure everyone can have their own lil' spot.

All at once is the best method. At some point no matter how its done they have to figure out the pecking order. That is a large enough tank to handle them and fish do have different personalities that when put together may surprise you. The ones you think would be the aggressor do not always turn out that way.

thanks for the advice. Im goin to do the all at once method. see what happens. like i said they are each in their own 50 right now if it gets to bad i could pull the bully but i think it will be fine.
