Tank Size: 160g 72x20x25.5
Filters: FX5 + XP3
Current Stock: Male Green Terror, 5 Clown Loaches, 1 BN Pleco, 1 Zig Zag Eel

What I'm looking for: A community type setup while remaining understocked. Want a nice lively tank that isn't completely aggressive (have another tank with a Central American cichlids stock list, looking for something a bit more chill in this tank).

I will admit when it comes to South American cichlids I'm at a loss for listing compatible tank mates. Was thinking of adding 3-5 Severums or Geos (not sure which Geos) and maybe bumping the amount of loaches or something.

Open to ideas - moving the current stock from another tank to this larger one so wanting to bump up the stock list.

Yeah, firemouths are usually a good choice for the following reasons
1. They can stand up for themselves if need be but never really start fights ( most of the time ;) )
2. There attractive and are quite small so they allow the stocking to be a bit heavier.

Also, salvini are quite colorful. Maybe have a look at them ?

Severum would be good. If you're thinking geos I'd look into iporangensis, brasiliensis, Baja red or steinies. These are tougher/more aggressive than normal geos and fair better with the green terror.
