Okay, I have been in the hobby for a bit, still kinda a newb, but have learned a ton in a short amount of time. I am a little obsessive about fish, and have made some impulse buys at my lfs over the past few months. I started out with a johanni, yellow lab, some red zebra, etc... I have gotten to a point where i have found fish that i love, and want to make my tank pop some...my tank has a lot of blue, and i want to trim it down... I am wanting a colony of demasoni, add some yellow labs to the mix, and maybe some cheweres... heres my current stock list:

1 ob peacock
1 unsexed Red Top Hongi
1 Male Blue Johanni
1 Yellow Lab
3 Red Zebra....(2 ob)
1 unsexed Red Top Trewavase
1 unsexed Socolifi
3 Kenyi (1 male 2 female)
4 Yellow Flavus (2 male 2 female)
2 Demasoni

Now, Im planning on adding quite a few demasoni, prolly between 8-10. id like to add a few labs as well... of this stock, the hongi, and 2 female kenyi are on my list of leaving...The flavus, I was thinking of keeping one male in the main tank, and throwing the other male with his females in my other tank... having 2 female kenyis, a trewavase, and socolofi, they tend to be very similar in color, so that needs to change, hence, the female kenyis leaving. id be fine keeping just the male, right?

anyway, my new stock should look sort of like this:

1 ob peacock
1 Male Blue Johanni
3-4 Yellow Lab
3 Red Zebra....(2 ob)
1 unsexed Red Top Trewavase
1 unsexed Socolifi
1 Kenyi (male)
1 Yellow Flavus (male)
8-10 Demasoni

is this way too overstocked? i mean it a mbuna tank, and overcrowding is a good thing. I have a wet/dry sump that runs at 840 gph, and do water changes every 4 days of 30-50 percent. the demasoni, johanni, flavus, and labs tend to stay pretty small, so i think i could make it work... as long i i keep males for most species, it should keep aggression down...thoughts?

who do u think my biggest worry should be? my zebras are chill as can be, the male kenyi is already kind of aggressive, but doesnt chase anyone. the trewavase and soco are still really juvie, about 2 inches if that. only aggresive one in there is the johanni. hes a little territorial

Well with mbuna anyone can be the problem when they mature sexually. I understand that they are small now, but they will grow pretty fast. Your demasoni are tough guys, as are the johanni, and the Kenyi. This is only a 55, and down the road it will be tough.
