My main tank at this point is my 125 g
Black diamond substrate
Moderately planted
1195g an hour turn over rate (2 aqueon 55/75, 1 Fluval 406 one sponge box all others ceramic)
2x 300 wt heaters
weekly 70% water changes
Current stock
2 polypterus senegalus
1 Albino polypterus Senegalus
1 polypterus delhezi
1 palmas butikoferi
2 BN plecos
1 EB acara
1 red hump geo
At a recent club auction I picked up a number of baby cichlids that I am growing out in a seperate tank and going to keep what I want and sell the rest at the spring auction in a couple months. I was thinking of the following as my end stock in the 125g
2 polypterus senegalus
1 Albino polypterus Senegalus
1 polypterus delhezi
1 palmas butikoferi
2 BN pleco
1 Male EB acara
3 Female EB acara
6 Elliot's Cichlids
1 male chocolate cichlid
1 female chocolate cichlid
1 red hump geo (he depends on his temperment.... is kind of a prick)
I realize its a lot of Bioload with that many cichlids thinking of adding a sponge filter maybe. and if it seems to crowded as they reach full size I can move acaras or elliots to my 75g community tank. I intend to move the babys in as soon as they are big enough to not be bichir food.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
