I have posted a few threads about stocking a new 125gallon that I will be getting. all the fish in my signature will be in the tank Oscar, jack dempsey, green terror , and senegal bichir, but now my brother is begging to his own fish ( that I will take care of :irked:) I was wondering if a black belt or chocolate cichlid could also be added? or if any of you would like to suggest a really colourful looking SA/CA cichlid ( my brother doesn't care about the fish's personality or behaviour lol) that would get along with my other fish

anything would be appreciated, thanks

With the mild mannered group you have, I would lean more toward the chocolate, or a severum, something like that. A black belt may disrupt the cohesiveness. Not saying you can't get a chocolate that has an attitude, but generally, I'd go that direction.

edit: I just noticed the size of your gt. That's something else to keep in mind. It's going to take him a LONG time to grow, and will likely get blown by (size-wise) by anything else you add.

They won't be mild mannered for long. Green Terrors are notorious for going crazy once they get some size. Chocolates generally will not stand up for themselves against a very aggressive fish. If you green terror gets more aggressive the jack will start acting more agressive as well. As mentioned, a severum would be a lot tougher and be less likely to be a push over. A black belt would to too mean.

Good luck

I've had 2 in my life and one of them at 4 inches would beat the @##@ out of anything you put in with it. It was by far the meanest fish for it's size that I have ever owned. It did not matter what size the fish was, (I even tried a 6 inch red devil with it) it was going to kill it. It eventually jumped out and died. I assume it was thinking about beating me up and jumped out looking for me. This may be the exception, but it's not that uncommon either. The other one acted slightly more aggressive then a JD but could get a long with tankmates. Completely different fish.
