There are a couple threads of people keeping these fish... I have kept them in full salt tanks, so basically there are several different kinds, but all are monsters and will eat anything big enough for his belly, not his mouth, so watch out. Also they really do get their name from what they do, so if you want an active fish, this is not your guy.
Will not live long in fresh, need brackish conditions for a healthy life. Inactive, easy to lean off live food. They make a roaring sound when you chase them with a net or they get picked on.
i think they look cool but there not freshwater they need brackish conditions they get like 8'' so if your looking for a preditory fish for a brakish tank then these guys are pretty cool
