My severums have paired and now are unsuccessfully breeding over and over again. While I thought this a great thing at first; has now turned into a tank divided. Some of the species I have can't act naturally anymore ie. geophagus, corys. How do I get this pair their first divorce? I don't want to give either of them up. Can they be "just friends?"

Add a target fish to distract them. Maybe some more Sevs or the like, Has worked for me in the past. Otherwise seperate them...

dude, does anyone get in the way of you and your wife taking care of business. A mans got to do, what a mans got to do :chillpill:

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll now try to handle them one by one: I have 5 tanks but it may upset the balance in the others to move one, I could eat one but I've heard severums don't taste like chicken, I'm getting eggs every 2 weeks, I have two other severums in the tank, and I agree with Chago09 if my weenie was that small I'd take what I could get when I could.
But seriously, the only real answer looks like to move them. It's what I was trying to avoid. I guess I was hoping there was another way, like messing up the eggs, changing water temp. I know they form famlies and I know they can get frustrated with each other and break up, so I've read, but how?
