Stop white stuff from growing on rubber/plastic pieces in tank?

anyone have issues with white stuff growing on suction cups and connectors in their tanks?

The couplings on my fx5 that are in the tank, and the suction cups holding my airline in my tank constantly get this white build up on them. It's quite annoying have to always scrub it off.

Anyway to prevent this? Or maybe cut down on it?

I usually wipe that stuff down with each water change. I think its just a natural process of the tank not really much you can do to stop it. If its growing out of control like one day you wipe it and two days later its there again, maybe its a sign of over feeding?
