I picked up a glass 180 gal and I can't set it up until I move in 6 months. Its way to heavy to put in my basement so I was wondering if it will be ok in my garage? We have very cold winters here so I'm not sure of the ramifications of the cold on a tank..will it be ok?

It'll be fine, as long as no water freezes in it when in storage. The only thing that really doesn't freeze well is fish, unless your storing them to eat!

Just don't whack the glass too hard with anything... it will be fine.

You might want to consider tossing a cheapie vinyl table cloth over it. They have a felt underside and could help provide a little forgiveness if something bumps it.

Awesome thanks everyone that's why I love this site

My buddy had as 55 that survived 3 Chicago winters before you gave it to me, I had it for 9 years before I upgraded to a 125 and never had a problem.
