Ive already checked the stickies and i didnt see anything exactly like this, i have 2 senegal bichirs around 5 inches, one just hangs out at the bottom and comes out on occasion, the other one, an albino, spends the majority of its time starting at the top of the tank on the left side, swimming as fast as it can to the right and stopping right before the end. Then it goes to the bottom, back to the left side and repeats it again lol, he will do this for hours at a time, he doesnt crash anywhere just swims in this circle, was wondering if anyone elses was doing this or i should be conserned?

Thank you

I HAVE A BUNCH OF BICHIRS- I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEHAVIOR

If you recently added these Bichirs they will spend time mostly on the surface since they're not settled in the tank yet. Baby Bichirs will stay closer to the surface since they need to get a gulp of air. I've had many new and baby Bichirs and until they get settled in the tank their homes are the surface of the tank, except during feeding time. Add some fake floating plants to make them feel more secure.

Edit: I know you said you've read the stickies but check this one out and read it word to word, tells all about their behavior.

My Delhezi use to do this often. He would swim up and down and across the tank for minutes at a time then stop then start back up again.

the albino is just hungry

My senegal does this occassionally. Normal behavior I think.

and the senegal is just not used to seeing you infront of the tank yet.
