Dude the thing is like 13 inches..... I've seen a lot of Platyrhincus at that size and I do not think so.. and it is not very big...

No sure my self on ID as the vid blurs too much that could give a good ID. It has Atractosteus traits by the vid alone. Hard to really tell though what one. I'd strongly suspect Gator.

maybe its just me but head shape and teeth make me think alligator gar
but im not really good at iding
any tips would help, poly

Key I was looking for is the obvious second tooth row to clarify Atractosteus ID. Vid blurs this out. The general proportions say Gator gar as the head shape and jaw alignment is pretty distinctive on these fish. This fish lacks Lepisosteus characteristics in this regard. It could be a hybrid or a Tropicus (if one squints) but I lean toward Atractosteus spatula.

it is a gator im sure.....
i doubt it'd be a trop in malaysia.
no one would release a trop in malaysia since theyre so rare.
i dont even think anyone in malaysia has a trop although i could be wrong.
and its definitely not a lepisosteus species.
someone probably released the gator gar after it got too big...
