At the local petsmart I saw these little yellow cichlids mixed in with blue rams.I am not sure if they are just a morph of a blue ram or a different spicies all together. They are about 3/4 the size of the male blue rams and just a hair smaller than the females.they are almost solid yellow with exception to a small amount of red at the tips of all thier fins and a pale yellow belly.I snuck in my camera and got some fuzzy pics thinking maybe someone could tell me what this is,because I havent seen one of these before. ;)

Gold ram...same thing basically, just different colour morph. Rather common these days, and very cute :)

Ya know...After I looked at the pics and compaired them...The fish in the pic that was posted Has a definite little "hump" on its eyes....

Jen ;)

So its just a color morph of a M.ramiriez(blue ram).It has all the other chracterists i.e.size.breeding,feeding and so on,because they look very small next to the other rams(blue).Oh yeah thanks for the help, wierd how you can go to fs pretty much evry week and never see a common fish of the trade.

gold rams

they are prob smaller just because of age

they are a little more delicate than blue rams "from my experience"

I am not able to find any info on these little guys, any suggestions?
