My pike wants to spit his food out over and over again. i don't know why because he eats food much larger than what he often spits out. check it out he does it twice...

hows your water parameters? any other stressful things happen lately?

NOT SO STRANGE !! For some reason many Pikes spit out food a few times during consumption, especially if solitary with no tankmates. It's almost like a cat playing with it's prey. I suspect they chew a few bites with their pharangeal jaws to soften up the morseal, expel, then do it again. We have a 6 yr. old pike that does it frequently - even in a community tank with hungry, voracious tankmates. Often losing dinner by being stupid that way... Have you noticed a lot of food comes out thru the gills? Pikes can be dirty fish...
NICE Xingu 1 w/great coloration! Thx for the vid!

Glad you liked it, i got that Xingu I from "pupumole". My nitrates are high, i am struggling with them doing 40gal water changes on my 125 3x a week, to no effect. Within a month or two, my 240 will be ready for him :)

doesn't look strange to me my pikes doesn't that when its hideing and no other fish are around they seem to do this much more so with pellets and food sticks

Also check your food is it stale
