Strange Slime on wood

Added a large piece of driftwood (mopani) I got from Petco to my tank late last week. Soaked the wood for a few days and boiled it too to take out as much of the tannis as I can.. Well after 2 days my water started to turn tea color (as expected) but then on around 3rd day i noticed my wood having some cloudy film on some parts. Here are the pix:

Any one know what it is?

kinda hard to tell, but does look like the typical fungal growth that you sometimes get with "new" driftwood. I've heard leaving it in the sun (or simply to dry) for a couple days takes care of it.

I dont know.. I will let it stay as is for a few more days, if nothing changes then will try taking the wood out and letting it dry again..

If anyone got any other info they would like to share please do..
