ok heres the deal, i have setup a 55g for trout, it has 680 gph filters, and 2-300 gph powerheads, however, the temp without a heater is at 75 degrees and i cant afford 500 bucks for a chiller. now what can i put in that:
A. likes fast moving water
B. is big (i only want one or two fish)
C. will not outgrow a 55g
D. looks cool (colorful or whatever)

Thanks everyone!

already have green terror, and dempsey is kinda similar. anyone know of any native river species that will tolerate warmer water?

a convit

do the fish u wanted.

take a 2 liter bottle. fill it and freeze it. put it in the tank. next day, switch it out for another one and put the first back in the freezer. ez maintanence and effective.

leave it as much uncovered as possible. evap cools ur tank.

If you went with trout, hopefully this tank is only temporary and you will be upgrading to larger one.

My Blacknose Dace and Emerald Shiners don't seem to have a problem in my un-airconditioned apartment over the summer with tank temp at about 73 -75. But I keep the water well oxygenated so that helps.

they are dif than trout. trout need cooler

Trout will outgrow that tank.
