My Sveni male is laying on the gravel and moving his body like a snake. He's colored up nicely with strong markings and pigs out on freeze dried shrimp every other day. Is this normal? He's the only pike that I have and only gets aggressive (flaring and tail slapping only) with my Senegal bichir.

Post a picture if you can. They are shy fish. My guess is the birchir looks similar and he's reacting to that. Pikes don't play along with each other very well.

How long have you had him? Your pike looks rather emaciated, and its possible that if he's new to your tank that he's got a parasite which is keeping him thin and weak.

I've had him for about 2 months, that picture is from when I first got him. He's not as skinny, actually he's pretty healthy looking, no plump but not skinny either. Right now he's tail-slapping my bichir, and being completely ignored. He's not shy either, he's the smallest in the tank but doesn't run from anyone except my gibby. He eats three or for Futian fd shrimp every other day, the only thing I can get him to eat.
