strange white growth on Convict

Hello all, I just noticed the following this morning. It appears like it's coming out of it's anal cavity. While it may appear big and round in the shots (my apologies), it's pretty thin and white. I've seen white stringy poop, and it's definately not that. The convict (sex uncertain) hasn't been acting any differently, so I'm not sure what to think. Any suggestions as to what it is, anything I should be worrying about?

It could be a minor anal prolapse, they are usually caused by constipation. To much dried food eaten quickly, internal bacterial infections, internal protozoal infections, several types of worms, can all cause it as can compression injuries. A combination of praziquantel and metronidazole in food can help with several of these causes.
