While feeding my large tank tonight I noticed 3 spots on my Male frontosa. On the left side just under his nostrils there is 2 white spots that look like pimples. Ich is unlikely because I haven't added a new fish in about 9 months. And no live food. And on his right side just above and behind the eye there is a slightly larger bump that is the color of his skin. It's just like a knot. Water quality should be pretty good. It's a 135 and I change 30% or so every other week.

Brett, if you test your tank water, can you post the results for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

You may need to increase the percentage and frequency of your water changes.

How many fish are in this tank?

My water will test at all 0s for sure. I feed three times a week and do big waterchanges normally every week but the last couple have been every other and for filtration it has 2 aqueon 75 and 2 marineland 600 canisters. There are 4 fronts. 2 Oscar's, 1 angel, 1 leopard leaf, parrot, a breeding pair of peacocks and a couple cats

You should not have a zero result for nitrate on a cycled tank so test or get it tested.

Good to hear normal water changes are more frequent.

Have you done any maintenance on the canister filters lately?

Been about a month or so I think since I've changed the carbon in them. The rest is bio balls and ceramic rings in them.

Just got home from work today and the spots seem smaller than they did last night. Anybody know if salifert nitrate test kits work for fresh water.

Saltwater only.
