hi guys new to the salt system. noticed some white stuff on my corals and live rocks. looks like worms... looking at the pictures, what do you guys think? is it normal or not?

can you get a picture of it on your coral's from what I am seeing it look's normal but may be something else but can't know for sure till I see what it look's like on your corals.

i have these in my tank. nothin to worry about. i think theyre basically like a feather duster, but without the feather... they just sweep around in the current and collect food that way, like barnicals would.

Is it on the right side of the rock? I picked up one on my live rock, didn't harm anything and it has been in my tank for 6+months.

have them in my tank, they dont seem to be invasive or problem causing as far as it goes so far, just another form of alien life

They are a good sign. Its a form of tube worm, an indicator of a healthy/maturing saltwater tank. They usually grow in very little to absolutely no lighting. I dont think you will find them in areas of high light, or on glass that doesnt have a background on the other side.

Actually forget what i just said, i just noticed that what i was talking about is not what you were talking about. I was talking about the small white circles on the center of the LR. The stuff growing on the outer right edge of the LR could be a sponge or some sort of macroalgae. Im not really sure.

looks like formaniferans to me...

... i still cant figuare out what it is.. but for sure they are multiplying quick.. does anyone know a way i can get rid of them. they look so nasty! if anyone has any idea please let me know!
