One of my lungfish (albino dolloi) wasnt doing that well it would only except live food and had red spots on its skin. He looked kind of fluffy. And pieces of its skin fell off .
A while ago Fwlion gave me a tip on stray voltage in a tank of one of his friends lungfish. Who had similar problems.
My father whom is a retired electrician. Had this measuring device and we tested the water for electric current.
According to the meter there was a small amount of stray voltage in the tank.
The tank is filtered by a eheim pro 3 thermo. As soon as I pulled the plug the dolloi came to action.
If it could talk it would probably say thanx motherfckr...its about time you got this crappy filter of my tank. He looked kind of relieved. (as far as lungfish can look relieved)... now the second problem came up...no filtration on the tank and heating on the tank.
That same night I build myself a genuine ghetto filter.
If you look at the pictures you can see a picture of its tail just after I pulled the plug +/- 24:00 full of red spots and one at 07:00 the next morning ,almost clear of red spots. (i'll post these as soon as i can find the wire to my camera so I can upload the pictures to my computer)
I sure hope it will be o.k. now. and it will live true it.
p.s. in my experience when African lungfish don't feel well they seem to curl their tail a bit. (as soon as I pulled the plug on the filter it stretched his tail straight out)
